The bible shows us that although God’s people disobeyed his commands He never forgot about them. He had to punish them many times but He also was very merciful toward them. God was faithful to His promise to save man. He worked through the lives of kings, prophets and other people to carry out his plan.
After many generations the time came for God’s plan for man’s salvation to be put into action. God allowed his son Jesus to be born. Although the people of God had long awaited this event, they did not know who Jesus was at first.
Jesus was the Son of God so he was not born a sinner as natural men and women are. Jesus grew up as a child with his earthly parents. When he was an adult he began to carry out the things God sent him to do. Jesus knew he was sent to die on the cross for our sins. He also knew that God wanted everyone to be saved.
Jesus selected 12 men called disciples to teach and show about the way to be saved. Jesus got the people’s attention by performing miracles and telling stories. Jesus always remembered the reason God sent him to earth.
