Plan of Salvation Part 4

God wants everyone to be saved. The apostles who were now filled with the power of the Holy Spirit began to preach the good news of Jesus Christ. Men and women believed and accepted Jesus. They were baptized after their sins were forgiven. Their lives were changed.

The new believers began to meet and grow closer together because they felt the same way about their new life of salvation. This is how the church started. One apostle, Paul helped to start many churches.

Jesus was and is still alive in the work of the church. God gave men gifts and abilities to carry out the purposes of the church. He made some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. God led men to write the bible to be a guide to believers and churches about the things that were, things that are now at hand and things that will occur in the future.

As a body of believers, the church continues to reach out to those who do not know Jesus Christ. Will you now accept Jesus Christ? If so take the next steps:

Step One:   Pray for God to save you. You may pray this Prayer for Salvation

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins. I believe that your Son Jesus Christ died for my sins.  I want to turn from my sin. I acknowledge Jesus is Lord, and that you raised him from the dead. I believe that as I now accept Jesus Christ as my personal Savior I am saved. Amen.

Step Two:   Begin to Live a New Life

  • Let someone else know you are saved. If you already attend a church, tell your pastor that you are saved.
  • If you do not attend church, find one in your area and join.
  • Be baptized
  • Start to fellowship with others who believe in Jesus
  • Pray every day and read the bible.
  • Attend church regularly to worship and continue to grow.
